About the Role:
Join our team as a full-time ongoing Grade 2 Social Worker or Grade 2 Psychologist to work in Dandenong at the Multidisciplinary Care Centre (MDC) or Seaford (PenSac). As an experienced Clinician (Social Worker or psychologist) you will work therapeutically with families/ carers and young people who have experienced sexual assault or family violence and or displayed harmful sexual behaviours. As a valued member of our Children Young People and Families team you will work as part of a committed, supportive, and vibrant team, within a unique multi-disciplinary setting. You will be supported to demonstrate and develop your quality clinical practice within our highly regarded service. SECASA's Children Young People and Families team provides assessment and intervention for children and young people who have experienced sexual assault / family violence and or displayed Harmful Sexual Behaviour, as well as providing support for their carer's.
We are looking for experienced Grade 2 Social Worker or Grade 2 Psychologist to work therapeutically with children, young people and their carer's. The role will be primarily based in Dandenong at the Multidisciplinary Care Centre (MDC) or Sefaord (PenSac).
About Us:
The Southern Eastern Centre Against Sexual Assault and Family Violence (SECASA), is a program of Monash Health and has the responsibility in the Southern Region of the Department of Human Services for:
- The provision and development of effective services to victim/survivors and associated people affected by sexual assault and family violence
- The provision of assessment and treatment for children and young people who have engaged in harmful sexual behaviour.
- The provision of public education and professional training on sexual assault and anti-violence issues
- Social planning and processes related to reducing societal violence.
The SECASA Children Young People and families team provides assessment and intervention for children and young people who have experienced sexual assault /family violence and or who have displayed harmful sexual behaviour, whilst providing support to their parents and carers.
About You:
As a valued member of the Children Young People and Families team you will work as part of a committed, supportive and vibrant team. You will be supported to develop your clinical practice within a highly regarded service. As the successful candidate, you will have a strong commitment to, and understanding of, the personal and political issues surrounding sexual assault, family violence and harmful sexual behaviours in children and young people. You will have professional experience working with young people and responding to complex trauma related to sexual assault and/or family violence. You will have demonstrable experience delivering high-quality assessments and therapeutic support using a strengths-based approach, drawing on evidenced based, trauma informed interventions, and you will have demonstrable experience in working collaboratively with key agencies, within the scope of relevant legislation and professional guidelines. You will be an excellent communicator, able to work independently and contribute to a resilient team.
