About the Role :
Monash Health is seeking an experienced and visionary leader for the role of Head of Unit, Orthopaedic Surgery. Reporting to the Service Medical Director (SMD), Specialty Surgery, this position provides strategic and operational leadership across Monash Health's orthopaedic services, ensuring delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.
Key Responsibilities :
- Lead and develop a high-performing orthopaedic team across Dandenong, Moorabbin, and Monash Children's Hospitals.
- Drive quality, safety, and innovation in orthopaedic surgery.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to plan and deliver sustainable, future-focused services.
- Promote research, education, and workforce development.
- Ensure compliance, financial sustainability, and alignment with Monash Health's strategic goals.
- Direct Reports include Subspecialty leads (Arthroplasty, Children's, Trauma, Hands & Upper Limb) and Supervisors of Training (SET & JMS).
Requirements :
- AHPRA registration and relevant Fellowship (RACS or equivalent)

Working with Children Check, Police Check, and proof of vaccination
- Demonstrated leadership and experience in orthopaedic service delivery
