Join our team as a Nurse Unit Manager on Unit 1 in a permanent full-time position at Dandenong Hospital.
About the Role
The Nurse Manager will lead the multi-disciplinary team and will provide specialist nursing skills to consumers of Unit 1. This position is a clinical leadership role responsible for the day-to-day operations, clinical outcomes and management of Unit 1 employees. You will work in partnership with the consultant psychiatrists and other senior clinicians to provide strong leadership and ensure sound governance structures and processes, and the delivery of the set budgetary and KPI targets and to provide regular reports on service performance.
As an experienced Nurse Manager, you will demonstrate excellent clinical skills in working with our consumers who face complex issues. You have extensive experience in Mental Health care and knowledge of a broad range of diagnoses. You have established leadership and management skills and you empower your team through showcasing your critical thinking, clinical excellence and safety focus in a supportive and excellence driven way.
Using your excellent communication skills, you work closely with a varied team of Mental Health and allied professionals across Monash Health with the sole purpose of delivering exceptional care at all times.

What you need
- Requires a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Nursing - or a completion of a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or specialist post basic course of training which led to registration as a division 3 nurse
- Have a minimum of 5 years full time equivalent post graduate qualification
- Clinical leadership within an acute Mental Health facility desirable
About Unit 1
Unit 1 at Monash Health Dandenong is a 25 Bed inpatient unit which sits within the Dandenong Adult Mental Health Service under the Mental Health Program. The service provides care to consumers aged between 25-65 who require short-term inpatient management and treatment during an acute phase of mental illness. Situated in Dandenong, Unit 1 services a culturally diverse population. The multidisciplinary team work with consumers to provide a range of therapeutic interventions and programs, whilst also working collaboratively with families and carers to provide education and guidance on how to best support consumers during their recovery.
