About the Role

Join our team as a Grade 3 Occupational Therapist on a part time (.8 EFT, 32 hours per week) on an ongoing basis. This position is to work within the Dandenong Continuing Care Team (DCCT) based in Dandenong.

 

This role will se eyou lead the delivery of innovative, evidence-based occupational therapy services for adults experiencing complex mental health challenges. In this senior role, you’ll work within a multidisciplinary team and be responsible for:

 

  • Providing specialised, recovery-focused interventions to support consumers in regaining and maintaining independence.

  • Delivering individual and group-based therapy with a strong focus on occupational performance.

  • Leading and mentoring Occupational Therapists, and contributing to service development and clinical governance.

  • Collaborating with families, carers, and NDIS providers to facilitate safe, person-centred discharge planning.

  • Advocating for consumers within clinical, community, and legal settings.

  • Conducting functional, cognitive, sensory and home-based assessments to enhance participation in meaningful occupations.

 

This is a community based role, working Monday to Friday (8.30AM to 5PM), providing effective mental health care through both clinic-based appointments and home visits

About You

 

You are an experienced and values-driven Occupational Therapist who thrives in dynamic environments and is motivated by the opportunity to lead and inspire others. You bring:

 

  • A recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy and current AHPRA registration.

  • Extensive experience working in community mental health settings, with a strong understanding of recovery-focused care.

  • Highly specialised knowledge in assessment and therapeutic interventions for adults with complex mental health conditions.

  • Experience delivering occupation-based interventions in real-life environments, including home, community, and vocational settings.

  • A proactive approach to supporting consumers, carers, and NDIS providers in navigating recovery pathways.

  • Demonstrated skills in staff supervision, mentoring, and leading service improvement initiatives.

  • Experience engaging in assertive outreach and managing a diverse caseload with professionalism and compassion.
