Psychologist – Dandenong Continuing Care Team (DCCT)  

   

Join our team as a Psychologist Grade 2 on a Part Time Ongoing basis (24hrs per week), working at our Dandenong Community Mental Health Service.

The Dandenong Continuing Care Team (DCCT) is seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychologist to provide evidence-based psychological services to individuals with a range of mental health challenges.  

   

About Dandenong CCT 

The Dandenong Continuing Care Team (DCCT) comprises a multidisciplinary team of case managers including registered psychiatric nurses, occupational therapists, and social workers. The case managers are supported by a consultant psychiatrist, a medical officer or registrar, psychologist and Administration team.  The service operates from a community clinic between the hours of 8.30am – 5pm, 5 days per week.  Clients are seen both at the clinic and in their own environments. DCCT provides recovery-oriented treatment to consumers experiencing a range of mental health problems. Case managers are required to manage a number of consumers, providing direct support and interventions, coordination of care, and referral to other relevant community professionals, agencies and services to support the individual needs of consumers, their carers and family members.  

As a key member of a multidisciplinary team, you will focus on providing psychological services to clients facing conditions such as schizophrenia spectrum and psychotic disorders, Bipolar Affective Disorder, Major Depressive Disorder, Personality Disorders, trauma-related disorders, substance use disorders, and more.  

  

About You  

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:  

  • Conduct psychological assessments using systemic formulation, structured interviews, and psychometric testing to support accurate diagnosis and understanding of the psychological factors influencing the client’s condition.  

  • Engage with families and carers to provide holistic support and deliver psychological based interventions.  

  • Prepare psychological reports and provide effective verbal and written feedback to clients, families, and referring professionals.  

  • Use diagnosis, formulation, and clients’ preferences to develop and deliver effective, evidence-based psychological intervention as per the model of care, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, family-based interventions and psychoeducation   

  • Develop and implement behaviour support plans, and collaborate with the treating team for seamless implementation.  

Mandatory requirements of the role - qualifications, licences, memberships: 

  • Current general registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and consent to ongoing registration checks via Monash Health’s electronic credentialing systems  

  • Hold or working toward endorsement in clinical or forensic psychology
