Exciting opportunity for a neuropsychologist Grade 2 to join the team at Unit 4-Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU).
This role is permanent part time.
About Us
Secure Extended Care Unit (SECU) is a 50 bed sub-acute adult psychiatric inpatient unit, based at Dandenong Hospital. We are a dedicated multidisciplinary team that provides medium to long-term inpatient treatment and rehabilitation to consumers who have unremitting and severe symptoms of mental illness or disorders who are unable to receive treatment in a less restrictive environment. Our team delivers comprehensive, person-centred care that includes family and carer involvement. We are committed to evidence-based practice and continuous service improvement. Our multidisciplinary team values collaboration, innovation, and compassion. We foster a supportive environment for professional development and clinical education.
About the Role:
- You will work with the multidisciplinary team at SECU to provide evidence-based neuropsychological services to consumers, using evidence-based approaches.
- You will provide comprehensive mental health care that considers all aspects of a person’s needs.
- You will conduct neuropsychological assessments and prepare neuropsychological reports, providing written and verbal feedback to consumers and others as appropriate, including National Disability Insurance Scheme.
- You will conduct assessment when needed and offer secondary consultation and psychological input to the broader clinical team.
- You will participate in supervision, clinical education, service development, and research initiatives.
- Participate in clinical research projects, or pilot projects associated with service development, including data collection and analysis.
- You will provide group psychological therapy as required, using evidence-based approaches.
About You:
- You are a currently a registered psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (APHRA).
- You have a masters or doctorate of psychology
- You have experienced in delivering evidence-based group and individual interventions such as CBT and ACT.
- You have strong assessment, formulation, and intervention planning capabilities.
- You hold or working towards endorsement in clinical Neuropsychology psychology
- You demonstrates sound clinical judgment and adherence to professional and legislative standards.
- You are enthusiastic about contributing to team goals, service innovation, and continuous learning.
