Monash Health Refugee Health and Wellbeing operates from a person-centred care framework and aligns with the social model of health in responding both to the needs of the local community and to emerging population health data. The service is committed to enhancing health and wellbeing outcomes in refugee and asylum seeker communities, and is currently seeking a passionate and enthusiastic registered nurse to fulfil a 0.50 EFT refugee health nurse position.
Within the context of a dynamic and supportive multi-disciplinary team, the role of the refugee health nurse is to deliver high quality primary care services to refugee and asylum seeker patients. This includes on arrival health assessments, routine nursing care and care coordination, with the option exploring of a variety of clinical portfolio responsibilities. If you are an experienced nurse with an interest in working with refugee communities, who thrives in a fast pace, rapidly changing environment, and is commited to endeavours that address broader issues of health access and equity this position will be of interest.
