We are seeking a Senior Mental Health Clinician (Registered Mental Health Nurse) to join the Dandenong MHWL team on a full-time basis.
About the Role
- Support colleagues including peer practitioners and community mental health practitioners
- Conduct bio-psycho-social assessments and provide secondary consultation
- Undertake clinical mental state and risk assessments
- Facilitate escalation of care when required (e.g. PTS, ICT, CCT)
- Deliver complex clinical care and brief therapeutic interventions (e.g. psychoeducation, coping strategies, single-session family work)
- Provide clinical guidance and supervision to nursing staff
- Collaborate with the Clinical Manager to develop nursing practices and training
- Engage in cyclical clinical reviews and maintain accurate, timely documentation
- Work in community settings and via telehealth

- Promote inclusive care aligned with “no wrong door” and service-as-needed principles
- Participate in education, peer review, and quality improvement initiatives
About You
You are a compassionate and skilled clinician with:
- Strong communication and leadership abilities
- Experience in complex mental health assessments and interventions
- A collaborative approach to working with diverse stakeholders
- A commitment to continuous learning and service improvement
You will also have:
- Registered with Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia via the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and consent to ongoing registration checks via Monash Health’s electronic credentialing systems.
- Registered Nurse who has obtained a sole qualification in Mental Health Nursing (has completed a specialist undergraduate psychiatric nursing program or Bachelor of Mental Health Nursing) OR
- Registered Nurse with a Bachelor of Nursing qualification and has an academic post graduate qualification in mental nursing qualification (minimum Diploma level).
- Has a minimum of 5 years full time equivalent mental health post graduate qualification experience in mental health nursing.
