About the Role:
Join our team on South West 4 at Dandenong Hospital as a Registered Nurse in a Full-time or part-time capacity (0.6 EFT minimum)
Multiple Full -Time and Part time positions available to fill fixed-term and ongoing vacant positions in the ward.
As an experienced Registered Nurse (RN) with a background in acute hospital settings, particularly in General Medicine, your role will be crucial in providing high-quality patient care. Your ability to deliver patient-centred care with compassion and professionalism is essential. Experience and proficiency in providing care to with General Medicine patients will be highly regarded.
We encourage continuous professional development and offer support for further education, including Post Graduate Certificates relevant to Medical/Surgical Transition into Specialty Practice. Additionally, we offer access to on-site education and have Clinical Educators and Clinical Coaches to assist in your growth and development in this role.
About Us:
We are a 36 bed unit with a 12 bed area utilised for cardiac telemetry monitoring. Specialties vary and include cardiac, respiratory, renal and stroke conditions. Surgical patients requiring cardiac monitoring are also cared for on South West 4. South West 4 has a robust Ward Governance Structure. Ward Governance is a quality improvement initiative, set to focus on delivering our key objective to deliver “excellence in care.” Governance comprises of medical, pharmacy, allied health, and nursing leads, engaged in communicating collaboratively to identify any potential or actual risk to patient care in order to facilitate improved patient outcomes. This is achieved through multilevel collaboration and communication within the teams.
We encourage participation in Quality Improvement initiatives through membership of a National Standard portfolio group on the ward. Team Nursing is the chosen model of care on South West 4. As a result, staff feel well supported and patients benefit from a team of carers, focused on a positive patient experience.
About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
Communication skills and teamwork are extremely important in this role as you will be working in a diverse team. You show a highly developed emotional intelligence within the care and support you provide. Understanding the importance of patient-centred care, you have a genuine interest in working and interacting with our diverse teams to deliver high-quality, safe patient-centred care.
Your critical thinking, willingness to learn and ability to work cohesively and share knowledge within a team will see you excel in this role whilst we provide you with guidance, support and training to learn the rhythm of the South West 4 team workflows.
You are an experienced RN with previous experience in general medicine in an acute hospital setting. You are a dedicated and compassionate nurse who is enthusiastic about further developing your clinical skills and seek support and mentoring from those around you.

What you need:
- A relevant Qualification
- Proven clinical experience in an acute General Medicine Hospital Ward highly desirable
- A willingness to learn & grow your leadership capabilities through commitment to a portfolio
