About the Role:  

  • We have an exciting opportunity for a Registered Nurse to join our Surgical team at West 3 at Dandenong Hospital.  
     
     
  •  Fixed Part Time - Parental Leave Cover (6 months and 12 months positions)  
     

In this role, you will deliver a high standard of evidence-based nursing care, providing bedside care in an acute surgical environment. You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and evaluating comprehensive patient care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, while delivering pre-operative and post-operative care.

Additionally, you will contribute to compliance and quality improvement initiatives and consistently demonstrate Monash Health’s ICARE values in all aspects of your practice.

About Us:  

West 3 is a 36 bed ward providing a high acuity fast paced, goal orientated specialised in Vascular, Diabetic Foot Unit and General Surgery nursing to adults from a variety of social and cultural back grounds. 

Our service includes Vascular surgery, diabetes management and education, general surgery, complex wound care, discharge planning and allied health. 

A Day in the Life:

As a team we provide the best care to achieve common, complex discharge goals. Joining our dedicated team of nurses you will be exposed to Negative Pressure wound therapy, amputees, heparin infusions, insulin infusions, drain tube management and diabetic education. 

 

About You:

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: 

  • Current AHPRA registration 
  • Collaborative team player who works effectively within a multidisciplinary team 
  • Australian working rights 
  • Experienced Registered Nurse with a strong surgical background  

 

In Addition:

You are an experienced registered nurse who can think outside the square, advocate on behalf of the surgical patient and communicate precisely your patient care needs. Problem solving comes naturally to you whilst effectively working with a multidisciplinary team.
