About the role:
Our Children’s Ward is an exciting place to be, caring for patients from 0-19 years of age, being exposed to the whole spectrum of presentations for numerous conditions. Patients don’t tend to spend too long on our ward, and this means no two days will ever be the same.
- Exposure to General Medical Paediatrics along with specialist areas such as Orthopaedics and Plastic Surgery
- Patients from 0 right up to 19 years of age, ensuring you gain a breadth of knowledge across a huge chunk of the Paediatric space
- A team who really support work life balance and who are focussed on the health and wellbeing of each other as well as their patients
This is a part-time (24hrs pw), fixed term position until February 2027, based at Dandenong Hospital.
In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the Nurse Manager, working with the broader Paediatrics team.
About Us
Dandenong Children’s Ward is an 8-bedded unit that supports the care of patients from birth to 19 years. With a focus on General Medical Paediatric conditions, we also care for orthopaedic and plastic surgery patients. We have a team of highly experienced nurses, and a strong leadership team, and this enables us to support our staff in continuing to expand their nursing skills.
What You Bring:
First and foremost, we want nurses who are excited about passionate about being in Pediatric Nursing! You don’t need to have previous experience in Paeds, we have a strong clinical team who can support you in your learning, you just need the desire to be here!
You will also bring:
- A passion for working in Paediatrics and providing top level care to our patients and their families
- A willingness to learn and to continue to develop your clinical nursing skills
- A can-do attitude and a desire to learn
What You Need:
- demonstrated experience in Nursing, including a Graduate Year of Nursing
- Current AHPRA Registration to practice independantly
- A strong desire to care for Paediatric patients and their families.
