About the Role:
 

  • We have an exciting opportunity to join our team in North Ward at Dandenong Hospital as a Registered Nurse in an ongoing part-time position.    

 

As an experienced Registered Nurse with a background in acute hospital settings, your role will be crucial in providing high-quality patient-centered care. Your ability to deliver patient-centred care with compassion and professionalism is essential.  

 

Experience and proficiency in providing care to surgical patients is well regarded. Responsibilities include but not limited to: direct planning and providing patient care, post-operative surgical management, drain tube management, complex wound care, discharge planning and working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.  

 

About Us: 

North Ward is a 20-bed surgical ward specialising in Plastics Reconstructive Surgery and ENT Surgery. We have a dedicated multidisciplinary team who work closely together to ensure that we achieve the best possible outcomes for our patients and families/carers 

 

About You: 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: 

  • Surgical experience in an acute surgical setting. Plastics and ENT experience would benefit but we have a supportive and highly skilled team to help you gain these skills.  

  •  A positives attitude and a willingness to learn and develop skills in this specialised unit 

  •  A passion for providing excellent care, adhering to the Monash Health ICARE standards and advocating for patients.  

  •  A willingness to take on portfolios and contribute to ward quality improvement projects and national standard portfolios. 

 

You are also: 

  • Dedicated to safe best practice & quality care 

  • Committed to delivering patient centred care & a patient advocacy 

  • Enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively

  • Ability to work a rotating roster across all shifts.  

 

What you need: 

  • A relevant Qualification 

  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills 

  • Ability to work well within a team and autonomously. 

  • Availability to work across a 24/7 rotating roster   

  • Proven clinical experience in an Acute Surgical Ward is highly desirable
