About the APAT Team at Older Adult Mental Health Service- Endeavour Hills
The Aged Persons Assessment and Treatment (APAT) Team provides community treatment to clients who generally are over 65 years old, have a mental illness and live in the Dandenong, Casey, Cardinia and part of Peninsula catchment areas. The aim of the APAT Team is to provide treatment to clients in their own environment as far as clinically possible for a time limited period and to connect clients into relevant community services including primary care. APAT Team play a pivotal role in preventing relapse and admissions whilst providing treatment in the least restrictive manner. APAT works as part of the wider Older Adult Mental Health Service.
About the Role
As a Registered Psychiatric Nurse you will work collaboratively with clinicians of various disciplines to ensure high quality of care is provided to consumers in the service area. We will look to you to provide comprehensive mental health assessments and demonstrate competence in managing complex, mental health issues whilst adjusting to changing priorities as well as sharing with the team your discipline specific expertise.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for aspiring clinicians to explore community mental health or as an opportunity to try Older Adult Mental Health, extensive training is provided where required.
The APAT team are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Psychiatric Nurse to join the team on a part time (up to 4 days a week) ongoing basis.
The hours are 8:30-5pm weekdays.

You also have:
- Relevant Qualification (aligned to position description)
- Demonstrated experience preferably in community mental health or equivalent
- Experience working with older adults (65+) is highly desirable
- Current AHPRA registration
