About the Role 

 

Dual Diagnosis | Social Work, Occupational Therapy or Registered Psychiatric Nurse | 0.8 EFT Ongoing | Dandenong

 

An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Dual Diagnosis Clinician to lead the Southern Dual Diagnosis Service within the Specialist Stream of the Mental Health Program. This position is open to Social Work, Occupational Therapy or RPN and is 0.8 EFT ongoing in Dandenong. 

 

Based in Dandenong, this role provides senior clinical leadership while supporting workforce capacity building across services working with consumers experiencing co-occurring mental health and alcohol and other drug (AOD) needs. You will work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to strengthen integrated, coordinated care pathways.

 

This role also contributes to the implementation of Royal Commission recommendations, supporting the delivery of integrated, person-centred care across mental health and AOD services. You will help ensure treatment approaches are well-connected, effective, and responsive to the holistic needs of consumers.

The Monash Health Drug & Alcohol Service (MHDAS) operationally reports through to the Mental Health Program and is committed to providing opportunities for change and growth by reducing drug use, the harms from drug use, improving physical and mental health, and reconnecting and or maintaining people’s connections to their family and the community. The principle catchment areas are the Cities of Greater Dandenong, Casey and the Shire of Cardinia with sites located in Dandenong, Pakenham, Cranbourne and Berwick.

 

About You 

 

You are an experienced and confident clinician with strong expertise across both mental health and alcohol and other drug settings. You are passionate about integrated care and have a proven ability to lead, influence, and support workforce capability development. You will bring:

 

  • Significant experience in mental health and AOD services
  • Strong leadership and capacity-building capability
  • Experience developing and delivering training and education
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
  • Ability to provide brief interventions within a harm minimisation framework
  • Strong collaboration skills across multidisciplinary and interagency settings
  • A commitment to improving outcomes for people with co-occurring needs
