About the Department / Program
Monash Health Pharmacy is a diverse and dynamic team of over 500 professionals. We work across seven hospitals and community settings, delivering best-practice pharmacy services and supporting career development through structured rotations, mentoring, and leadership opportunities.  

 

About the Role
Join our team as a Pharmacist Team Leader in Mental Health on a full time ongoing basis. You will be primarily based at Dandenong Hospital whilst providing direct and remote support to team members at Casey Hospital (Berwick), Kingston Centre (Cheltenham), and Monash Medical Centre (Clayton). In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the Assistant Deputy Director of Pharmacy - Dandenong Hospital and Peri-operative Services, working with the broader pharmacy and multidisciplinary teams.

 

Key responsibilities include

  • Leading and reviewing clinical pharmacy activity within the Mental Health service
  • Supporting staff to meet clinical activity targets and deliver high-quality patient care
  • Developing and reviewing Mental Health medication profiles, protocols, procedures and patient information resources
  • Overseeing the safe use, documentation and reporting of specialised medicines in the Mental Health units
  • Driving governance and quality improvement initiatives within the Mental Health pharmacy service
  • This role requires participation in pharmacy rosters, including after-hours, weekend and on-call services, and flexibility to work across Monash Health sites as required.

 

About You
To be successful in this healthcare role, you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience, and attributes:

  • Demonstrated leadership experience with the ability to coach, mentor and develop high-performing teams
  • Extensive hospital pharmacy experience, ideally with Mental Health exposure
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in fast-paced, complex clinical environments
  • Strong communication, stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills
  • Experience in clinical governance, quality improvement and medication safety
  • Excellent organisational, decision-making and problem-solving skills

 

Mandatory requirements of the role 

  • Registered with the Australian Health Practitioners Agency (AHPRA) Pharmacy Board 
  • Relevant post graduate qualifications (desirable) 
  • Clinical Supervision training (desirable)
