About Us
The Adult Eating Disorders Inpatient Unit at the Wellness and Recovery Centre (WRC), Dandenong Hospital, is a specialized 4-bed ward dedicated to supporting individuals in the acute phase of eating disorder treatment.
We provide psychiatric and psychological care within a medical ward setting, delivering evidence-based, trauma-informed treatment through a structured, multidisciplinary, recovery-oriented framework.

 

About the Role
As a Mental Health Clinician, you will:

  • Provide direct clinical care to individuals in the acute phase of eating disorder treatment.
  • Deliver structured meal support and therapeutic interventions within a specialized inpatient ward.
  • Monitor mental state and manage clinical risk, including suicidality and eating disorder behaviours.
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to support individualized recovery planning.
  • Work a 7-day rotating roster, with a minimum of 3 shifts per week (7:00am–3:00pm / 1:30pm–9:00pm).

 

About You
You are a qualified mental health clinician with:

  • Experience in acute mental health or eating disorder settings.
  • Skills in emotional de-escalation and structured meal support.
  • Confidence in assessing mental state and managing clinical risk.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, thriving in a dynamic inpatient environment.
  • A collaborative, trauma-informed approach to care.

 

What You Need

  • Current registration with AHPRA.
  • Working with Children Check.
  • Relevant post-graduate qualifications in Mental Health Nursing, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, or Social Work.
