Welcome to Chestnut Gardens Aged Care Home - The Avenue
Join our caring and dedicated team at Chestnut Gardens Nursing Home, part of the Monash Health Aged Care network. We are currently seeking an experienced and compassionate Associate Nurse Manager to join our supportive team in providing high-quality, person-centred care to our residents.
At Chestnut Gardens, no two days are the same. You’ll work closely with a multidisciplinary team within a warm and collaborative environment, where professional growth and continuous learning are encouraged. We currently have a Part Time (40 hours per fortnight) ongoing opportunity available working a set shift roster within The Avenue. You will have the ability to view the current vacant shifts and select shifts that enable you to have a healthy work life balance.
About Us
Located in Doveton, Chestnut Gardens is home to 100 high-care residents, including 60 high-complex care beds and 40 psychogeriatric beds across two thoughtfully designed wings –The Boulevard and The Avenue.Our facility embraces the latest in care and design philosophies and is fully staffed by a skilled nursing team, including Associate Nurse Unit Managers, Nursing Coordinators, Enrolled Nurses, Registered Nurses, and Graduate Nurses.
About the Role:
As the Associate Nurse Manager, you will work closely with the Nurse Manager/Nursing Coordinator to provide visible, hands-on leadership across the nursing team. This includes supervising and mentoring Registered Nurses, Enrolled Nurses and Health Care Workers, ensuring clinical care is safe, effective, and in line with Aged Care Standards and organisational goals.
In this role, you will be responsible for;
- Supporting the Nurse Manager/Nursing Coordinator with team leadership and clinical oversight
- Mentor, supervise, and support nursing and care staff in daily practice
- Coordinate staff rosters, workload management, and delegation of duties
- Facilitate team meetings, performance reviews, and continuous learning
- Ensure adherence to OHS and Aged Care Standards, promoting a culture of safety and quality
- Support staff development through orientation, preceptorship, and succession planning
- Monitor and enhance care quality through audits, education, and clinical risk management
What You’ll Bring:
- Valid NDIS Clearance and completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module (essential)
- Valid police check clearance including a renewal every 3 years (essential)
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, (essential)
- Substantial clinical nursing experience, preferably in aged care (essential)
- Strong leadership, communication, and organisational skills (essential)
- Proficiency in clinical systems and digital documentation
