About the Role:
Join our team as a Laundry Assistant on a part time (fixed) basis in this exciting opportunity to work at Chestnut Gardens Aged Care Centre!

As part of the Support Services team and reporting to the Support Services Manager, Laundry Assistants are responsible for sorting soiled and clean laundry, operating industrial laundry equipment, delivering and restocking clean items across the site. Rotating through various areas, they assist with washing, drying, folding, and machinery cleaning, while maintaining safe work practices at all times. Key responsibilities include (but not limited to):

  • Labelling, laundering, sorting, folding and delivery of resident clothing
  • Cleaning within the laundry
  • Operation of commercial washing machines and dryers
  • Stock management of mops and cloths for wards and department usage.
  • Packing of mops and cloths
  • Collection of soiled mops and cloths from various areas within the facility

Position 1: Laundry Attendant
Days: Tue, Thu, Fri - 7.30-15.00
Total Hours Per Fortnight: 42

 

About You:
To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in environmental services within an Aged Care, hospital or commercial cleaning setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills. Whether you work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions.
