About the Role
Join our team as a Nurse manager on a full time - ongoing to work at The Boulevard, based at our residential facility at Chestnut Gardens.
Reporting to the Facility Manager (FM), the Nurse Manager will be responsible for leading both the clinical and day-to-day operations of the Unit. You will ensure the delivery of safe, effective, and compassionate care to all residents. Your leadership will play a crucial role in cultivating a supportive work environment that prioritises continuous improvement, collaboration, and resident wellbeing.
As part of the Aged Care Services leadership team, you will embody the values and vision of Monash Health. Your role will be pivotal in providing strong, effective leadership, fostering team cohesion, and building positive relationships across the unit.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance and inspiration to nursing and care staff to deliver personalised, high-quality care in line with current best practices and compliance standards
- Leading initiatives focused on safety, change implementation, and continuous quality improvement
- Supporting staff development through coaching, mentoring, and performance management, ensuring a capable and adaptable workforce
- Fostering an inclusive, respectful, and innovative culture underpinned by evidence-based practice
- Identifying and managing clinical and operational risks, ensuring all activities meet legislative and organisational requirements
- Engaging with residents, families, multidisciplinary teams, and external partners to deliver comprehensive, person-centred care
About Us
Chestnut Gardens, located in Doveton, is home to 100 high care residents with 60 high complex care beds and 40 psychogeriatric beds within 2 wings, The Boulevard and The Avenue which utilises the latest in care and design philosophies.
To ensure the best care, we work collaboratively with a skilled nursing group in developing person centered care. We are a unique aged care facility fully staffed by Associate Nurse Unit Managers, Nursing Coordinators, Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses, including Graduate Nurses.
We are dedicated to delivering care in line with Monash Health iCare values and strive to ensure that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and receive personalised care that is culturally safe and in accordance with their preferences.
About You
You can provide evidence of experience in leadership and management, with a proven track record in driving change and promoting a culture of safety. You’re skilled in coaching and developing staff, inspiring teams, and fostering a positive and motivated work environment. A strong advocate for person-centred care, you lead with adaptability, cultural sensitivity, innovation, evidence-based decision-making, and effective self-management.
You will also possess;
- NDIS Worker Screening Clearance and completed NDIS Worker Orientation Module (essential)
- Current National Police Check, renewed every 3 years (essential)
- Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration (essential)
- Minimum 2 years’ nursing experience in aged care (essential)
- Demonstrated leadership experience as an ANM or Nurse Manager (essential)
- Strong commitment to safe, evidence-based care and continuous improvement
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Collaborative, adaptable, and proactive approach
- Passionate about person-centred care and advocating for residents
- Empathetic, compassionate, and a strong team contributor
