About us:

Chestnut Gardens, located in Doveton, is home to 100 high care residents with 60 high complex care beds and 40 psychogeriatric beds within 2 wings, The Boulevard and The Avenue which utilises the latest in care and design philosophies. 

To ensure the best care, we work collaboratively with a skilled nursing group in developing person centered care. We are a unique aged care facility fully staffed by Associate Nurse Unit Managers, Nursing Coordinators, Enrolled Nurses and Registered Nurses, including Graduate Nurses. 

We are dedicated to delivering care in line with Monash Health iCare values and strive to ensure that all residents are treated with dignity and respect and receive personalised care that is culturally safe and in accordance with their preferences.

We are currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses for ongoing Part Time positions ranging between .6 to .9 EFT (48 hours per fortnight through to 72 hours per fortnight. We recently moved from a rotating roster to a set shift roster and currently have a combination of AM and PM shifts available across a 7 day roster.   

 

About the role:

Reporting to the Nurse Unit Manager (NM) of either The Avenue or The Boulevard, you will be responsible for the provision of high quality and holistic residential centered care. 

No two days will be the same as you work within an established, friendly and supportive team environment. There are ample opportunities for staff development and growth in areas that staff are passionate about.

As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for assessing, planning, and implementing individualized care plans, ensuring the highest standards of care and support for our residents.

We have a strong education focus and encourage staff to further develop their skills, along with being a part of a friendly and social environment to work in.

There will also be leadership development opportunities, working 'in-charge' of shifts as required.

About you:

You are a suitably qualified and experienced Registered Nurse with exposure across aged health care. Having a compassionate disposition and passion to make a difference in the quality of our resident's life, is what you strive to do. Underpinning it all is your passion working within Aged Care. 

On a personal level, you:

  • Completion of a Graduate Year post registration, highly desirable 
  • Demonstrated experience working within Aged Care, advantageous
  • Are dedicated to safe best practice & quality care
  • Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
  • A proactive and team player attitude
  • Commit to delivering patient centered care & patient advocacy
  • Are enthusiastic, compassionate & able to work collaboratively
  • Value and are an advocate of Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles

You will also possess:

 

  • Current AHPRA registration, essential
  • Experience as a Registered Nurse working within Aged Care, essential
