About the Role

Step into a pivotal leadership role as Mental Health Manager – Psychiatric Triage Service, VPeR and Narre Warren PARCs, based at the Casey Mental Health Service. This is a unique opportunity to influence services that make a real difference in people’s lives every day.

 

As a senior leader, you will provide clinical, operational, and organisational oversight, guiding and supporting a dedicated team to deliver safe, high-quality mental health care. You’ll play a vital role in shaping the future of our services, ensuring they remain responsive, person-centred, and evidence-based.

 

This is a full-time, fixed-term role until August 2026, open to passionate and experienced professionals from the following disciplines:

  • Social Work
  • Occupational Therapy
  • Mental Health Nursing (must hold a qualification as a Registered Psychiatric Nurse)

About You

You are an experienced mental health professional with strong clinical expertise and proven leadership skills. A highly skilled communicator, you work collaboratively with key stakeholders across disciplines and services. As a role model and mentor, you inspire and support others, fostering a positive team culture. Your ability to lead, innovate and manage change ensures high-quality, evidence-based, and consumer-focused care is consistently delivered.

 

Your strengths include:

  • Extensive experience in mental health services, with the ability to manage complex cases and lead multidisciplinary teams.
  • Proven leadership and management skills in change, performance, and workforce development.
  • Strong knowledge of mental health legislation, policy, and evidence-based practice.
  • Highly developed organisational and decision-making skills, with the capacity to balance competing priorities.
  • Commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and recovery-oriented, trauma-informed care.

 

 Qualification and licence requirements include:

  • Qualification as outlined in the supportive documentation for each discipline
  • Evidence of commitment to working in Mental Health - Post Graduate Qualification in Mental Health as outlined in the position description 
  • Understanding of AOD and Forensic Mental Health is highly regarded 
  • Demonstrated experience within an Inpatient Unit or similar 
  • Current AHPRA registration
