About the Role

Ready to make a real impact in mental health care? We’re on the lookout for a passionate and driven Grade 3 Occupational Therapist to join our expanding Intensive Community Treatment (ICT) team. This is your chance to step into a role where every day you’ll be making a tangible difference in the lives of older adults in our community.

With the introduction of extended service hours, you’ll enjoy a varied and engaging roster (8:30AM - 5:00PM or 11:30AM - 8:00PM), giving you the opportunity to provide meaningful care when it matters most. You’ll be primarily based in Endeavour Hills, with the chance to work across other locations, keeping your work fresh, diverse, and rewarding.

What makes this role truly exciting? You’ll be part of a supportive, forward-thinking, multidisciplinary team that thrives on collaboration, innovation, and excellence in care. This is not just a job - it’s a chance to lead, influence, and grow.

As a senior Occupational Therapist, you will:

  • Deliver home-based mental health care that prevents hospital admissions and shortens inpatient stay
  • Partner with individuals, families/carers, and a skilled team to support recovery during acute episodes
  • Build strong connections with psychosocial and residential support services, councils, and NGOs, ensuring holistic, person-centred care
  • Take on a leadership role, bringing your occupational therapy expertise to the forefront across the broader Mental Health and Allied Health Programs

About Us

The ICT team is a recently expanded and innovative service within the Older Adult Mental Health Service. We comprise a dynamic mix of Nurses, Social Workers, Psychiatrists, and Registrars, and are now looking to enhance our service with a dedicated Occupational Therapist.

Our commitment is to delivering high-quality, community-based, patient-centred care that supports older individuals through the acute phases of mental illness while keeping them connected to their home environment. The program focuses on three key objectives:

  • Providing a safe and effective alternative to hospital admission during acute phases of mental illness.
  • Delivering intensive, person-centred treatment in the individual’s home, respecting the wishes of the person and their families/carers.
  • Reducing the length of inpatient admissions through assertive and responsive community treatment.

About You

You’re a passionate and experienced Occupational Therapist who thrives in a dynamic, collaborative environment. Confident in your clinical judgement and calm under pressure, you consistently place the consumer at the heart of everything you do. You value teamwork but are equally comfortable working independently, and you’re excited to use your discipline-specific expertise to drive positive consumer outcomes.

What you bring:

  • Passion to advance your OT career in the mental health sector
  • Compassionate and person-centred care approach
  • Commitment to evidence-based and safe clinical practice
  • Experience in acute mental health care (older adult experience highly regarded)
  • A collaborative and team-focused mindset
