Come and join the Monash Health Allied Health team as an Aboriginal AHA cadet. We look forward to supporting you with work based practice while yuou study your AHA course, to really assist in embedding learnings. The role will be supported by the local clinical multidisciplinary team in the day to day clinical activities and the AHA governance team, lead by the AHA Workforce Advisor. This role will also have strong connection with our Aboriginal Health and Engagement team for cultural support and supervision.
This is a designated position under s.12 Special Measures of the Equal Opportunity Act 2010. Only Australian Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people are eligible to apply.
About the Role
Applications are now open for the 2026 Monash Health Aboriginal Allied Health Assistant (AHA) Cadetship Program. This cadetship offers a work-while-you-learn opportunity, allowing participants to gain hands-on experience while studying the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance. The program is designed to provide practical workplace exposure while supporting our healthcare teams in delivering safe, high-quality patient care. All cadets will complete a Monash Health induction and receive a local orientation tailored to their allocated program. We are also able to offer specific Cultural Support from Aboriginal staff if you would like this. If you haven't enrolled in the Certificate IV Allied Health Assistance yet, we can support you to do that too, with one of our local, trusted education partners.

About the Cadetship Program
The Cadetship Program provides an opportunity for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander allied health assistant students to gain extra skills and experience working at a Victorian public health service while undertaking their studies.
To be eligible, applicants must:
- identify as an Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander
- aspire to be OR be a student currently enrolled in the Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance and live in Victoria; and
- maintain a minimum pass grade in all units.
