About the Role:

 

Join our team as a Chef (Trade Cook) on a part time, ongoing basis to work at Chestnut Gardens Aged Care.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for preparing high-quality, nutritious meals for up to 100 residents, ensuring food safety, dietary compliance, and exceptional presentation. All from our newly refurbished kitchen.

 

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of older adults by providing meals that are not only nourishing but also comforting and enjoyable.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Prepare meals in accordance with standardised recipes and dietary requirements.
  • Maintain high standards of food hygiene and safety in line with HACCP and Food Safety Program.
  • Ensure timely meal production and service delivery.
  • Participate in menu planning and continuous improvement of food services.
  • Conduct regular kitchen hygiene and cleanliness audits.
  • Collaborate with the Food Services Manager and Support Services team to ensure quality outcomes.

 

About You:

 

You are a passionate and qualified chef who thrives in a team environment and takes pride in delivering nutritious, high-quality meals. You are respectful, compassionate, and understand the importance of food in enhancing the wellbeing of aged care residents.

 

You will have:

 

  • Trade qualification in Commercial Cookery.
  • Food Safety Level 2 certification (HLTFS207C, HLTFSE005, HLTFSE007).
  • Experience in a healthcare, aged care, or commercial kitchen environment.
  • Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
