About the Role

 

Join our team as an Environmental Services Assistant on a part time to work at Chestnut Gardens Aged Care Centre (CNG) based in Doveton.  In this role, you will be guided under the leadership of the General Services Manager and working with the broader Support Services team.

 

ESAs are responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe hospital environment; not only for patients, but also for visitors and colleagues across Monash Health. ESAs deliver high-quality environmental services across clinical and non-clinical areas.

 

Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

 

  • Ensuring adherence to infection prevention and control protocols at all times
  • Adhering to safety protocols when using cleaning chemicals and equipment in line with safety guidelines
  • Managing waste removal and disposal procedures safely and responsibly
  • Maintaining cleaning schedules and documentation
  • Reporting maintenance or safety hazards promptly
  • Collaborating with clinical and support teams to deliver service excellence
  • Completing relevant workplace training modules
  • Distribution and collection of linen
  • Physical work including lifting and manual handling

 

We currently have the following opportunities available:

 

Days/Times: Monday (8.30-16.00), Tuesday and Thursday (9.00-14.00)

Total hours per fortnight: 34

 

About You

 

To ensure your success in this role, you will bring experience in environmental services within a hospital, Aged Care or commercial cleaning setting with strong demonstrated knowledge of infection control and hygiene practices. You are a reliable and punctual team member with great verbal and written communication skills. Whether you’re work independently or as part of a team; you always follow manual handling, safety protocols, and procedural instructions.

About Chestnut Gardens:

 

Chestnut Gardens Aged Care Home is a residential aged care facility operated by Monash Health in Melbourne’s south-east, providing long-term care for older adults who can no longer live independently. The 100-bed home offers a range of services including general aged care, dementia support and aged persons’ mental health care in a supported, clinical environment. Its primary function is to deliver ongoing nursing care, daily living assistance and wellbeing support for residents with complex or higher-level care needs.
