About the Role  

RACS psychologists deliver evidenced based treatment to a variety of patients and have key roles working within the multidisciplinary teams across the sub-acute wards using a patient-centred care perspective. The Psychologist will provide psychological assessment and treatment to rehabilitation patients with psychological, behavioural and/or cognitive factors that are impacting on the admission and discharge planning. RACS psychologists work within the multidisciplinary teams and in addition to psychological therapy, provide specialist support around behaviours of concern and education and training to teams as needed on mental health issues.  

The fixed term position is located at Kingston Centre two days a week. The position is 0.4 EFT and flexible, family-friendly hours can be supported.

 

About You  

You enjoy working within a team environment and have a keen focus on fostering relationships to improve service provision and deliver patient-centred care. Your ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, to a wide audience is a core competency for this position, along with excellent time-management skills and knowledge in working with patients with chronic and/or complex psychological issues. You are capable and confident to communicate your clinical opinion to referrers, enhancing these relationships through collaborative problem solving. You are passionate about your work and promoting the role of psychology more broadly within the public health framework. You have sound science-practitioner skills and value the importance of evidence-based practice and utilising objective data to determine outcomes. You enjoy working in a team environment and work well within the multidisciplinary team to communicate triage updates, clinical handover and waitlists.
