About the Role:
Join our team as a Grade 3 Speech Pathologist on a full-time ongoing basis.
We are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic clinician to join as across both our friendly Movement Disorders team (3 days per week / 0.6EFT) and the Monash at Home service (2 days per week / 0.4EFT). We will also consider part-time applications for each service.
In this role, you’ll provide best-practice, evidence-based care through face-to-face and/or Telehealth assessments and interventions for patients admitted to the service. You’ll work collaboratively with a supportive and experienced multidisciplinary team to ensure effective and compassionate care aligned with Monash Health’s Strategic Guiding Principles.
Your day-to-day will include:
- Providing best practice assessment, intervention, and coordination of services, aids, and equipment to deliver safe, effective, and person-centred care
- Providing strong leadership and contributing to the planning, development, and evaluation of evidence-based Speech Pathology services
- Working collaboratively within a friendly and welcoming interprofessional team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
- Building strong partnerships across Monash Health and with external stakeholders, alongside each services Managers, Clinical Coordinators and other team members
- Taking responsibility for relevant administrative portfolios as directed
- Providing clinical supervision and support to Grade 2 Speech Pathologists, students and/or Allied Health Assistants as required

Movement Disorders Clinic:
Based at Kingston Centre (Heatherton), the Monash Health Movement Disorders Program is a world class service for people with Parkinson’s disease and related movement disorders. The program is an internationally recognised Centre of Excellence by the Parkinson’s Foundation in America. The Movement Disorders Clinic is an innovative multidisciplinary team who will welcome your fresh ideas and approaches. You will work with one of the largest movement disorders teams in Victoria and have opportunities to work with and learn from a variety of health professionals including neurologists, geriatricians, senior occupational therapist, physiotherapists, speech pathologists, social worker, neuropsychologist, dietician and clinical nurse consultant in a supportive environment.

Monash at Home:
Monash at Home - Aged and Rehabilitation Care (ARC) is a dynamic service that delivers care to patients within their own home. The team consists of Medical, Nursing, Allied Health, Pharmacy, Psychology and Administration staff. We provide an alternative to inpatient care, providing safe and high-quality home-based services for individuals with complex medical, functional and/or cognitive issues, who require comprehensive, medically led multidisciplinary assessment and intervention within the comfort of their own home. We are a 40 bed service that covers the Monash Health catchment. Operating out of two sites, Kingston Centre (Heatherton) and Cranbourne, staff are required to work flexibly across both sites to meet patient needs.
Patients within the service receive daily nursing visits. Medical, allied health, neuropsychology, and pharmacy teams also provide face-to-face or Telehealth consultations, depending on individual needs. In addition, patients have access to 24-hour telephone support.
Our service is dedicated to delivering short-term (average length of stay is 2 weeks), high-quality, and compassionate care that’s safe, effective, and centred around each patient’s needs within the primary Monash Health catchment.
About You:
To thrive in this role you will bring the following:
- Enthusiasm for working in a specialised multidisciplinary team
- A genuine passion and interest in working with patients within a home environment (for Monash at Home role), combined with proven experience and effective assessment and intervention skills
- Ability to supervise junior staff and students and contribute to peer-based learning
- Experience in quality and research initiatives
- Demonstrated commitment to best practice care
- Ambition to extend your clinical skills and expand your knowledge in the clinical area of Parkinson’s and related conditions
- Your strong communication and interpersonal skills
Mandatory requirements of the role:
- Bachelor of Speech Pathology, Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology), Bachelor of Health Science (Speech Pathology), Master of Speech Pathology or recognised equivalent (including overseas qualifications assessed by Speech Pathology Australia (SPA) within the past two years
- Eligible for membership as a Certified Practicing Speech Pathologist (CPSP) with SPA
- Demonstrated recent experience as a Speech Pathologist with at least 7 years of clinical experience
- Credentialed to practice in areas of video fluoroscopy
- Valid Australian Driver's licence
