About the Role

We are seeking an Occupational Therapist on a part time fixed (.6 FTE) basis until February 2026, based in Pakenham.

This role offers flexibility in work hours within standard business hours — no evening or weekend shifts required. Open to experienced Grade 3 Occupational Therapists, we also welcome Grade 2 clinicians who are eager to grow and will be well supported by the Team Leader.

This is a great opportunity for someone seeking a discipline-specific role within a supportive, assertive outreach team in a community mental health setting.

You’ll be part of the Intensive Community Program (ICP) – a small, multidisciplinary team working therapeutically with consumers who actively engage in their recovery journey. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively with a team that includes Clinical Psychology, Peer Support, Senior Social Work, and Dual Diagnosis expertise.

As an integral member of the team, you’ll provide specialised Occupational Therapy services to adults aged 25–65 living with mental health challenges. Your work will include:

  • Discipline-specific assessments, formulations, and interventions.

  • Supporting individuals in developing functional skills, motivation, and occupational engagement.

  • Delivering client-centred, recovery-oriented care in home and community settings.

About Us

The Casey Area Mental Health Service is led by an innovative and supportive leadership team that seeks to provide an innovative and recovery-based model of mental health care that will continue to develop with our growing community in the Southeast growth corridor. The Intensive Care Packages Team model of care is dynamic and supports people in an assertive, intensive outreach model of care. We provide community based support to people with mental health issues, requiring specialist mental health treatment that is not met by generic case management or other services. This service is aimed at providing discipline specific support and treatment for consumers with a severe/persistent mental illness aged 25 to 65 years.

Our team is small and innovative and is best suited to an Occupational Therapist that is wanting to work in people’s home and in the community, has a passion to support people that are needing and wanting the support and who will be working individually and running group programs. The Intensive Care Packages team is aimed at improving the health and wellbeing of adults with access to a one stop service for mental health care, health and wellbeing support for the whole family.

About You

This role offers the chance to bring your specialist skills to life through meaningful, hands-on interventions. We’re seeking an Occupational Therapist who thrives in a flexible and dynamic environment —where no two days are the same. You’ll walk alongside consumers on their recovery journey, creating real change through client-led, innovative approaches that reflect your professional style and creativity.

To be successful, you will have the following skills, experience, and qualifications:

  • Current general registration with AHPRA (Occupational Therapy) with no restrictions
