About the Role - Psychologist, Pakenham Community Care Team (PCCT) 

 

Join our team as a Psychologist Grade 2 on a Part Time Ongoing basis (40hrs per fortnight), working at the Casey Community Mental Health Service.

 

Pakenham CCT are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychologist to provide evidence-based psychological services to individuals with a range of mental health challenges. 

 

This is a great opportunity for a psychologist to join the multi-disciplinary team at Pakenham Continuing Care Team (PCCT) to support the ongoing recovery of our community-based service. Pakenham Community Mental Health Team is a multidisciplinary team providing mental health assessment and interventions for adults with mental illness within its catchment area. The position is based at Pakenham Health Centre.

 

The focus of the position is to provide evidence-based psychological services to the consumers who present with severe mental illness including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, schizoaffective disorder, personality disorders, depression and other severe mental health disorders. The psychologist will assist with diagnostic clarification, formulation and treatment planning, and offer a psychological perspective to the treating team and other relevant stakeholders.

 

About You 

To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge: 

  • Conduct psychological assessments using systemic formulation, structured interviews, and psychometric testing to support accurate diagnosis and understanding of the psychological factors influencing the client’s condition. 
  • Engage with families and carers to provide holistic support and deliver psychological based interventions. 
  • Prepare psychological reports and provide effective verbal and written feedback to clients, families, and referring professionals. 
  • Use diagnosis, formulation, and clients’ preferences to develop and deliver effective, evidence-based psychological intervention as per the model of care, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, family-based interventions and psychoeducation  
  • Develop and implement behaviour support plans and collaborate with the treating team for seamless implementation. 

 

Mandatory requirements of the role - qualifications, licences, memberships:

  • Current general registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Professionals Regulation Authority (AHPRA) and consent to ongoing registration checks via Monash Health’s electronic credentialing systems 
  • Hold or working toward endorsement in clinical or forensic psychology
