  • Ongoing opportunity, part time Thursdays and Fridays 08.30 – 1700 in our Maternity Clinic at Pakenham

About the Role

 

We are looking for passionate and dedicated Registered Nurses who have a passion for Women’s Health,  who love coming to work everyday to be able to provide women centred care. 

Our maternity team is a close-knit community of a broad group of professionals who support each other every step of the way. You'll be part of a team that values collaboration, learning, and growth and your daily duties will include the following:

 

  • Providing immunisation to our pregnant women that attend the clinic
  • Provide phone advise that is evidence based and provided in a timely manner
  • Monitor those in the clinic for adverse reactions and report any concerns
  • Accurate data maintenance in line with the Department of Health
  • Regular updates on education to ensure you are up to date with the latest information
  • Support and reassurance to those that have needle phobia and increased anxiety around vaccinations.
  • Liaising with both internal and external key stakeholders

 

About Us

 

The Monash Women’s Maternity Clinic is located in the Pakenham Health Centre, on Henty Way. This Maternity Clinic provides a dedicated space for women who will have their baby at Casey Hospital, with Diagnostic Imaging and Pathology services on site.

 

As the acuity and complexity of conditions grows across the South Eastern window, so does our service and the number of women we care for.  Supporting a culturally diverse group of women, our teams have the opportunity to advance their skills everyday that they come to work which ensures a positive experience for women and their families.

 

Our team delivers exceptional, compassionate care to expectant mothers, offering a comprehensive range of services from routine pregnancies to high-risk conditions. 

 

About You

 

Aside from a passion and commitment to women centred care, to ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:

 

  • APHRA registration to practice independently as a registered Nurse
  • Completion of accredited nurse immuniser course in accordance with the Department of Health Secretary
  • Ideally at least two years' experience in delivering immunisations in a high-risk/council setting
  • Yearly completion of Immunisation Emergency Management Response (IEMR) training
  • Ability to work independently and within at team
  • Passion for women’s health
  • Outstanding communication and time management skills coupled with delivering evidence based holistic patient centred care 
  • Willingness to participate in quality and/or research projects to ensure ongoing improvement in the standard of care we provide
