About the Role
We are seeking a Grade 1 Social Worker to join our Pakenham Community Mental Health Team, part of the Casey Adult Mental Health Program. This full-time, fixed-term role is ideal for early-career social workers wanting to develop their skills as a mental health case manager in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

In this role, you will provide psychosocial assessment, intervention, care coordination, and group facilitation, while working in partnership with families, carers, and community services.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting psychosocial assessments and delivering recovery-focused interventions
- Coordinating care and engaging with families, carers, and external agencies
- Supporting discharge planning and community reintegration
- Responding to crises, including family violence and vulnerable persons
- Participating in multidisciplinary team meetings and service planning
- Maintaining accurate documentation and outcome measures (e.g. HoNOS)
About You
You are a compassionate and motivated social worker, eager to develop your practice in a dynamic mental health setting. You bring:
- A strong interest in community mental health
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A commitment to recovery-oriented and inclusive practice
- The ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A proactive, flexible, and professional approach
Essential criteria:
- AASW-accredited Bachelor or Master of Social Work
- Eligibility for AASW membership
- Current Victorian Driver’s Licence
- Knowledge of relevant legislation (e.g. Mental Health & Wellbeing Act 2022, Family Violence Protection Act 2008)
- Strong computer and documentation skills
