About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Support Midwife to join our team at Sandringham Hospital. This is a part-time, 0.5 EFT, ongoing position.
In this role, you will:
- Support contemporary education that promotes best practice standards
- Provide clinical support to midwifery staff of all proficiency levels, from novice to expert, across maternity and newborn areas
- Demonstrate and promote expertise and evidence-based practice
- Contribute to a highly skilled and educated workforce to ensure safe, high-quality patient care
- Work collaboratively with leadership and multidisciplinary teams
- Act as a change agent, demonstrating agility in a dynamic clinical environment

Sandringham Hospital, as part of Monash Women’s, offers families access to tertiary-level maternity services closer to home, while maintaining a strong sense of community. We proudly operate within a low-risk, integrated model of care.
Our Sandringham Maternity team is passionate about mentoring and supporting midwives to grow their careers within Monash Women’s. You will work alongside skilled senior clinicians and mentors, while also being connected to the broader Monash Women’s network.
About You
You are an experienced and confident midwife with a strong commitment to woman-centred care and clinical excellence. You are ready to take the next step in your career, with a passion for education, mentoring, and leadership development.
You bring advanced clinical skills, strong assessment capabilities, and an understanding of diverse learning styles. You are a natural communicator who builds effective relationships and collaborates well within multidisciplinary teams.
You will also demonstrate:
- A passion for education, mentoring, and leadership
- Recent experience across all areas of maternity care
- Desirable experience in Special Care Nursery / neonatal care
- Strong clinical skills and commitment to best practice
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- A compassionate, patient-centred approach
Education & Licence Requirements
- 4 years of clinical midwifery experience
- FSEP Level 3
