About the Role:
Join our team as a Financial Analyst on a full time ongoing basis to work at Scoresby.
The role is a critical member of the team and key aspects of the role are:
- Development and monitoring of the Annual Budget for the service, including the preparation of regular forecasts for the executive.
- Provide ad hoc financial information, interpretation and explanation to the organisation as required by the role.
- Support the data and financial obligations to the department of health and other state government departments.
- Develop and monitor EBA changes to ensure financial impacts are understood and included in budgets and forecasts
- Facilitate strong relationships with all key members of the Finance function as well as key stakeholders throughout Monash Health.
- Adopt and integrate new technologies; understand and applying knowledge of digital tools, ensuring that functionality is optimised.
About Us:
This position reports to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager and is responsible for the monthly and long-term analysis of financial performance across the Monash Health. The role will help identify trends and facilitate deep dives to provide analysis to Stakeholders including the Business Partnering teams which will help the development and implementation of business strategies across Monash Health.
The role is responsible for facilitating the preparation of annual budgets and ongoing forecasts, it will facilitate the analysis of cost pressures on Monash Health and assist in the development of long-term sustainability plans. During 2025 the introduction of Oracle Fusion Cloud which will support all finance functions will also provide opportunity to develop and expand the level of analysis and insights to the organisation that is not possible with legacy systems.
As a key member of the Financial Planning and Analysis team, the Finance Analyst will provide leadership in achieving and upholding Monash Health’s vision, purpose and values.
About You:
To ensure your success in this role you will bring the following demonstrated skills, experience and knowledge:
- An understanding of technical accounting issues and principals and a solid understanding of management accounting principles and techniques.
- An understanding of data and reporting tools and ability to document requirements, test and ensure new financial systems are implemented successfully.
- Commercial background with proven ability to develop and meet operational and budgetary objectives
- IT/System literacy and a thorough overview of information systems.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, particularly in relation to consultation and influencing.
- Proven ability to exercise sound judgment and provide leadership in professional standards and ethics.
- Demonstrated ability to foster culture that encourages positive working relationships, a safe working environment, financial responsibility, innovation and productivity improvement.
- Capacity to be an effective team member, stimulate constructive debate and support colleagues in the achievement of organisational objectives.
- Strong people and communication capabilities particularly in building relationships, working in partnership, influencing others for an outcome, presenting facts, resolving conflict and explaining data concisely.
- Capacity to understand the complexities and challenges of the Health sector.
Mandatory requirements of the role - qualifications, licences, memberships,
- Possess or be able to demonstrate progress towards achieving a Diploma \ Degree in Accountancy or a related business discipline or
- Strongly desired to have Membership of a professional qualification (CA/CPA)
- 2+ years’ experience in a financial analysis / planning role in a large complex organisation
