Lead people systems innovation in Victoria’s public health sector 

We are seeking an experienced Manager, HRIS to lead and continuously improve our Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS) capability, delivering high‑quality, compliant and customer‑focused people systems that support strategic workforce outcomes across our organisation. Reporting to senior leaders within Fianance - Payroll Services, this pivotal role leads a specialist HRIS team and works in close partnership with Payroll, People and Culture, Finance, IT and external vendors to ensure our HR systems are robust, future‑ready and aligned with enterprise and industrial requirements. 

 

About the Role

As Manager, HRIS, you will provide strategic and operational leadership for HRIS systems, processes and data. You will set short‑ and long‑term goals for HRIS capability, oversee system builds and enhancements, and ensure strong governance, data integrity and compliance across all people systems. You will also play a key role in positioning the organisation as a leader in HRIS practice within the Victorian public health sector, driving innovation and continuous improvement while maintaining a strong customer experience 

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead and develop the HRIS team, ensuring a strong understanding of operational processes, system capability and strategic objectives.   

  • Oversee HRIS system builds, operations, workflows, security, data integrity, reporting, auditing and analytics.  

  • Partner with People & Culture, Finance, IT and external support partners to optimise system functionality and user experience.  

  • Lead HRIS‑related projects, including system enhancements, upgrades and process improvements, ensuring configurations meet business requirements. Drive system compliance in collaboration with Payroll Compliance and Employee Relations, ensuring Enterprise Agreements are accurately configured and implemented within required timeframes.  

  • Maintain strong stakeholder relationships to ensure effective and responsive service delivery.  

  • Identify and mitigate risks through regular risk management activities and maintain high standards of data quality through ongoing data cleansing.  

  • Stay current with business process and technical advancements, leading system change and innovation initiatives.  

  

About You 

You are a confident HRIS leader with demonstrated experience managing complex HR systems in a large, highly regulated organisation. You bring strong people leadership skills, a deep understanding of HRIS operations and compliance, and the ability to translate business needs into effective system solutions. 

You will also have: 

  • Proven experience leading HRIS or people systems teams. 

  • Strong knowledge of HRIS governance, data integrity, system configuration and reporting. 

  • Experience working collaboratively across HR, Payroll, Finance, IT and external vendors. 

  • A proactive, customer‑focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvement and innovation. 

  • The ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a complex environment.
