About the Role
Reporting to the Financial Planning and Analysis Manager, the Senior Finance Analyst leads the insights function within the Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team. The role supports the coordination of budget, forecasting and month-end processes, and contributes to internal executive and Board reporting, as well as statutory government reporting to the Department of Health. Core responsibilities include:
- Serve as the key link between the central FP&A team and Finance Business Partners.
- Support enriched data analysis, reporting and performance insights across Monash Health.
- Contribute to ongoing improvement of FP&A tools, processes and system roadmaps.
- As a key member of the FP&A team, the Senior Finance Analyst will provide leadership in achieving and upholding Monash Health’s vision, purpose and values.
Systems Optimisation and Transformation
As part of Monash Health’s broader transformation program, significant investment has been made in enabling systems, including Oracle Enterprise Performance Management (EPM), SAP SuccessFactors HCM and Payroll, and Oracle Fusion ERP. Following implementation and stabilisation, the focus is now on optimising system capability and realising the benefits of modern cloud-based platforms.
Insights, Reporting and Stakeholder Support
The role will help transition FP&A from a transactional reporting focus to a more transformational function, using enhanced data and system capability to understand performance drivers, identify trends and issues, and explain the “why” behind financial results. It will work closely with system owners and stakeholders to develop reporting tools, improve analysis and generate actionable insights that support business strategy across Monash Health.
About You
Qualifications, registrations and licences:
- Membership of professional qualification (CA/CPA)
Technical skills, knowledge and experience:
- 5 + years’ experience in a financial role in a large complex organisation
- Exposure to large Enterprise Resource systems such as SAP, Oracle, Technology One
